Oh Cool, Now Your XBOX Live Avatar Can Look Like A Licensed Douchebag

As much as I LOATHE avatars, Miis, and Playstation Home whathaveyous, I am grudgingly resigned to the idea that they are not going anywhere in this generation of platforming (but will be the punchline of this generation). Microsoft has had the most options on fine-tuning your Sim wannabe, with classic clothing choices and accessories that are guaranteed to make your avatar look the most like a tourist wandering the streets of Orlando.
But what’s this? Microsoft had forgotten that everything can be sold? Well, no longer, as the company has revealed licensed clothing for your avatar. Ooo, boy! Now that ugly-ass Master Chief shirt that you’d never wear IRL is totes avails for slip on to your digital analogue! If you’re going to make licensed crap like this, and (probably) charge, why not make things people would think were at least entertaining, like a Master Chief helmet, or a Gears of War Chain Gun? Or a Spider-Man costume? Not some Ed Hardy-looking crap, the clothing punchline of this generation.
I hope I’m overreacting, and this is just early test footage that’s been leaked. I will grab a pinch of foot and put it between my cheek and gums if that is the case. If not, we’re looking at another dumb way to make ugly things uglier.
