Roffles Slathered in PAIN

I hate it when I realize that an interesting game has slipped under my radar. Thus with much chagrin I wish to introduce you to PAIN for the PS3. Available for download for a mere $9.99, PAIN allows you to slingshot your rag-doll avatar into a series of destructive and well, painful, accidents in attempt to rack up points, much in the same vein as the “crash mode” introduced in Burnout 2.

In addition to the hilarity allowed by the Havok physics engine, you can also replay your catastrophes and change the angle of the cameras. This option allows the player to overcome the innate repetitiveness of the game by creating a Rube Goldberg-esque series of collisions. Observe:

This next one highlights both the immaturity of the game as well as it’s player base. Feel free to move on after the creator decides to capture the intimate moment between two female characters (or watch to the end if you’re into this sort of pixelated foreplay):

Apparently the download did relatively well as the producers intend to release a sequel, this time set in an amusement park:
